Bio
I began my private practice in Harrisonburg, VA, in 1982. After thirteen years, I moved to the beautiful Eastern Shore of Virginia. My office is located at 221 Mason Avenue in downtown Cape Charles Virginia.
I graduated with a Masters degree in Psychology from James Madison University, and after two years of supervision received my Professional Counselor’s License. While practicing in that capacity, I went on to attain my License in Marriage and Family Therapy. Additionally, I have taught Abnormal and Behavioral Psychology at the college level and have worked for four years as an inpatient psychotherapist, two of those years at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox.
I practice a positive-based humanistic form of psychotherapy, with the aim of helping each client develop needed strengths. My clientele range from children (eleven years and up) through senior citizens, and I accept most forms of insurance.
I enjoy a good working relationship with many of the physicians on the Eastern Shore.
Barney, my Shar-Pei dog featured in the picture above wants to become a therapy dog but we are still in training.
